NIMAS Mountaineers Scale 20 Unclimbed 6,000-Metre Peaks in Ladakh in 23 Days

LADAKH: In a remarkable feat of mountaineering and endurance, 20 climbers from the National Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (NIMAS), Dirang, have successfully scaled 20 previously unclimbed peaks above 6,000 metres in Ladakh in just 23 days.
The expedition was conducted in the challenging high-altitude terrain of the Union Territory, testing the team’s physical endurance, technical skills and ability to operate in extreme conditions. Each ascent presented a new set of challenges, requiring careful planning, teamwork and determination.
The achievement highlights the capabilities of India’s young mountaineers and the training provided by NIMAS, which is based in Dirang, Arunachal Pradesh.
