Nayara Energy Raises Petrol Price By ₹5, Diesel By ₹3 Per Litre

News Mania Desk/ Piyal Chatterjee/ 3rd October 2026

Private fuel retailer Nayara Energy has increased petrol prices by ₹5 per litre and diesel prices by ₹3 per litre across its network in India, with the revised rates coming into effect from October 3. The company operates more than 7,000 fuel stations across the country. The price increase comes amid a sharp rise in international crude oil and refined fuel prices. Nayara has undertaken a similar revision earlier this year, making the latest increase its second major price adjustment in 2026.

In March, the company had raised petrol and diesel prices following supply disruptions linked to tensions in the Middle East. The earlier increase was subsequently rolled back in July after international crude oil prices declined.

The latest revision comes at a time when state-owned oil marketing companies have largely kept petrol and diesel prices unchanged despite movements in global energy markets. Public-sector fuel retailers account for more than 90 per cent of petrol pumps in India. The government has also asked private fuel retailers to ensure adequate availability of petrol and diesel and avoid restricting sales at their outlets amid concerns over fuel supplies.

Besides transport fuels, prices of some other petroleum products have also changed. The price of commercial liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) was increased by ₹62.50 per 19-kg cylinder from October, while the price of domestic LPG cylinders remained unchanged. Aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices have also been raised, adding to the increase in costs faced by the aviation sector.

Nayara’s latest fuel price hike could increase the cost burden for motorists and businesses using diesel, particularly in regions where the company’s outlets are widely used. The impact on retail prices across the broader market will depend on international crude prices, domestic fuel pricing decisions and supply conditions in the coming weeks.
