OpenAI is launching a new update for ChatGPT, which includes an image library that enables users to view all their AI-created images in a single location. The new library section is accessible for users on both free and paid tiers, and can be reached via the ChatGPT mobile app as well as through the web.

OpenAI recently released a brief video on X (previously known as Twitter), demonstrating the functionality of the new image library. The video shows a new ‘Library’ area in the left sidebar. Selecting it displays a grid layout of images created in earlier discussions.

This library segment features a visual grid while also introducing new tools for managing and producing artwork. Importantly, there is a “Create images” button beneath the grid that initiates a new conversation, enabling users to produce new images with text prompts.

Moreover, each picture offers choices for editing, saving, and sharing. The “Edit” button returns the user to the initial conversation where the image was made, allowing them to modify it with updated prompts. The “Select” feature enables users to emphasize a certain section of the image for more precise adjustments.

This update comes after the recent introduction of GPT-4o-enabled image generation in ChatGPT, which garnered acclaim for creating both realistic and artistically styled images.

In other news, OpenAI is said to be creating a social media site that resembles X (previously known as Twitter). As reported by The Verge, the platform remains in the initial phases and is currently functioning as an internal prototype. The initial version is reported to emphasize ChatGPT’s capabilities in image generation, incorporated into a social-style feed. It is not clear if the platform will be released as an independent app or integrated directly into the current ChatGPT interface.
