Christopher Nolan’s forthcoming epic The Odyssey is becoming one of the most awaited cinematic experiences in recent history, and enthusiasm has just soared. As reported by Variety, tickets for the film in IMAX will be available for purchase starting 17 July 2025 — precisely one year prior to its planned release date.
The early ticket launch is extraordinary but not unexpected considering Nolan’s track record of box office success, particularly after the enormous triumph of Oppenheimer. The tickets, nonetheless, will be restricted: they’ll only be accessible for specific showtimes and solely at cinemas fitted with IMAX 70mm screens — Nolan’s favored format for his grand visual narratives. Universal Pictures and IMAX have chosen not to make any official statements regarding the early sales, but the announcement has already excited fans.
Featuring a star-studded cast that includes Zendaya, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Elliot Page, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Jon Bernthal, Mia Goth, and Matt Damon, The Odyssey brings to life Homer’s iconic story of Odysseus’ arduous journey back home. Damon will play Odysseus, while Holland will assume the role of his son, Telemachus.
