Community Hall and ICDS Centre Inaugurated in Amba Paschim (Jagai) Village under Rashmi Group’s CSR Initiative

Kharagpur, West Bengal : The auspicious inauguration of the Community Hall and ICDS Centre, constructed by Rashmi Metallurgical Industry Pvt. Ltd. for the Jagai Garam Budi Kora Koda Samiti in Jagai village under Rashmi Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, was held today in a warm and festive atmosphere.
At the outset of the programme, members of the Adivasi community presented a unique display of their heritage and culture. Guests were escorted to the venue through a colourful procession to the rhythm of traditional drums and folk instruments. The visitors were then welcomed with deep respect through the traditional ritual of washing their feet. The entire setting reflected a celebratory mood and the vibrant expression of Adivasi culture.
Bhaskar Chaudhuri, Executive Director of Rashmi Group, joined the event virtually and delivered his greetings and valuable address. He reiterated Rashmi Group’s commitment to holistic social development and expressed hope that this initiative would play a significant role in enhancing the quality of life for local residents.
Representing Rashmi Group at the event were Tapan Nath, General Manager – Legal, Shri Natabara Biswal, DGM-CSR , Sanjay Ojha and Chinmoy Acharya. Also present were Nirmal Mudi of the Adivasi Kora Koda Samiti, members of the State Committee, Majhi Naren Singh of Amba Paschim village, along with distinguished local dignitaries including Suryakanta Ghosh and Surajit Mandal.
In their addresses, the speakers said that the newly constructed Community Hall will serve as a vital hub for social, cultural, and educational activities in the village. Simultaneously, the ICDS Centre will play a crucial role in providing nutrition, healthcare, and pre-primary education services to children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers in the area. Dinesh Mudi, Secretary of the Amba Paschim (Jagai) unit of Kora Koda Samiti, extended heartfelt thanks to Rashmi Group for gifting the Community Hall to the village.
The programme concluded with a traditional Adivasi dance performance by the women of the village. Local residents expressed sincere gratitude for Rashmi Group’s welfare initiative and conveyed their hope that such development programmes would continue in the future.
