BJP Demands NIA Investigation In Bengal Purba Medinipur Blast

According to the news agency PTI, a search operation is underway to find individuals responsible for the explosion in West Bengal’s Purba Medinipur area that left three persons dead and numerous others injured. As the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party ordered a National Investigation Agency investigation into the incident, the political blame game over the tragedy intensified.

Less than 48 hours following the explosion on December 2 at midnight, tension was obvious in the West Bengali community of Bhupatinagar on December 4. Abhishek Banerjee, the TMC politician, was scheduled to speak at a rally in nearby Kanthi on December 3 at noon when the blast occurred, according to PTI.

According to PTI, Manna’s wife revealed to TV networks on December 4 that despite her objections, her husband had been creating pyrotechnics at home.

The blast had such an impact that parts of the kuchcha house where it occurred were destroyed. The TMC employees were allegedly constructing rudimentary bombs when an accident occurred, according to the BJP. Sukanta Majumdar, the state president of the BJP, called for an NIA investigation into the blast that claimed three lives at Bhupatinagar in the Purba Medinipur district on December 4.

Suvendu Adhikari, a prominent member of the BJP and the leader of the opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, demanded an NIA investigation into the incident on December 3. Banerjee’s gathering on December 3 was allegedly going to be attacked with bombs, according to the TMC. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s silence regarding this incident was questioned by the CPI(M), who also demanded a statement from her.
