Google Expands NotebookLM Plus to Google One AI Premium Subscribers

On Monday, Google revealed the launch of NotebookLM Plus for individual users. The enhanced version of the platform, which provides increased usage and additional security features, has only been accessible to business and educational accounts until now. Nonetheless, the tech giant located in Mountain View has now included it with the Google One AI Premium subscription. Subscribers to the plan can now enjoy the extra benefits available on the NotebookLM website.

Significantly, the platform became popular after introducing the Audio Overviews feature, allowing users to transform any source into an engaging podcast-like dialogue.

In a blog entry, the technology leader revealed the growth of the NotebookLM Plus platform. It will now be accessible to all users worldwide who are subscribed to the Google One AI Premium plan. Significantly, the subscription provides entry to Gemini Advanced, Gemini within Gmail, Docs, and additional tools, along with 2TB of storage on Google Drive. NotebookLM initially debuted in late 2023 and started its rollout in India in June 2024. Created as an artificial intelligence (AI) platform capable of summarizing lengthy documents, articles, and additional sources, while also enabling users to pose questions regarding them. The platform became widely popular after launching its Audio Overviews feature.

The standard version of the platform provides a maximum of 100 notebooks containing 50 sources each, allows for 50 chat queries daily, and permits up to three audio generations each day. In December 2024, Google unveiled a Plus version of its platform designed for enterprises and businesses, providing five times the usage limits along with enhanced privacy and security features. Currently, all these advantages can be accessed by individuals who subscribe to the Google One AI Premium plan. Its cost is Rs. 1,950 per month in India.
