Google has appointed its new country manager and vice president for India.

On Monday, Google introduced Preeti Lobana as its new Country Manager and Vice President for India. Preeti has succeeded temporary head Roma Datta Chobey and succeeds Sanjay Gupta, who was promoted to President of the Asia-Pacific region earlier this year. Preeti Lobana has worked at Google for eight years, formerly serving as Vice President of gTech – Process, Partner, Publisher Operations, Ads Content, and Quality Operations.
Google announces that Lobana would now be in charge of Google India’s sales and operations. According to Google, she will endeavor to improve the company’s involvement with India’s digital ecosystem. She will also work closely with Roma Datta Chobey, who will continue as Managing Director for Google India’s Digital Native Industries.
Lobana has spent the past eight years at Google as Vice President of gTech – Process, Partner, Publisher Operations, Ads Content, and Quality Operations. During this period, Lobana headed a global team focused on advertising solutions and delivering vital assistance to Google’s clients and partners globally.Lobana has had top leadership positions at a number of other well-known companies in addition to her tenure at Google. This includes her roles as managing director and head of global financial service India at NatWest Group, vice president of global business services at American Express, head of banking services at Standard Chartered Bank, and head of personal loans at ANZ Grindlays Bank. Lobana has over 30 years of experience working in business strategy and product management.
Announcing the appointment, Sanjay Gupta, President of Asia-Pacific, Google, said, “I am incredibly excited to welcome my colleague, Preeti, as our new Country Manager. Preeti’s leadership will be instrumental as we deepen our engagement with India’s unique ecosystem.”
