In a sweeping crackdown on controversial digital content, the Haryana Police have ordered the removal of hundreds of online links associated with rapper Badshah’s song Tateeree. The action led to the deletion of 154 videos from YouTube and 703 reels from Instagram, as authorities moved to curb the spread of the track across platforms.

Officials said the removals were carried out after issuing formal notices to social media companies, directing them to take down not only the original uploads but also user-generated content featuring the song. The police have also initiated continuous monitoring to prevent re-uploads and ensure compliance with legal directives.

The controversy erupted soon after the song’s release earlier this month, drawing criticism from various quarters over its alleged vulgar lyrics and objectionable visuals. Several complaints were filed, prompting authorities to take legal cognisance of the matter. Concerns were particularly raised regarding the portrayal of women and certain scenes that were deemed inappropriate by critics.

Law enforcement agencies have warned that strict action will be taken against individuals who continue to share or recreate content using the song. This could include account suspensions and legal proceedings under relevant laws. Authorities reiterated their commitment to ensuring that digital platforms do not host or promote material considered offensive or in violation of legal norms.
