Prabhas’ highly anticipated horror-comedy The Raja Saab has received clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) after several edits to violent sequences, paving the way for its January 9 release during the Sankranthi festival. The board granted the film a U/A 16+ certificate, indicating that parental guidance is advised for viewers under 16, following modifications to certain scenes deemed too graphic.

The CBFC approval comes with a final runtime of approximately 189 minutes (3 hours 9 minutes). Filmmakers implemented the required changes, which included adjustments to two particularly intense sequences. In addition to visual changes, the film’s audio description (AD) and closed captioning (CC) were also updated to comply with CBFC guidelines. A spokesperson for the board stated that the edits ensure the film meets regulatory standards without compromising the core storyline.

The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi, is produced by People Media Factory and IVY Entertainment.
