Kolkata, May : New Town Kolkata Development Authority adds another community center for citizen engagement in New Town. Located in Action Area II B near Akansha More, the G+2 community center provides space for citizen interaction and community gathering.
The total built up area of the building is approximately 29,000 sq ft and accommodates two banquet halls with two rooms each, roof top space, coffee shop, open air theatre, lawn, exhibition rooms and more. The facility will be rented out for social purposes, occasions/ family functions. Owing to its prime location and state of the art facilities and amenities, the community centre will be in high demand among the citizens. A similar community centre near Biswa Bangla Gate in Action Area I was opened to the citizens of New Town in November 2021.
The community centre in Action Area II B was inaugurated by Honorable Minister Shri Firhad Hakim in presence of Honorable MLA Shri Tapas Chatterjee and Honorable Chairman of NKDA Shri Debashis Sen and other senior officials on 10th May 2022. A cultural event to mark the birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore was also organized by NKDA at the community center. The event was seen active participation from local residents as well.
