Gujarat, April 11, 2025: The much-anticipated National Congress Session commenced today in Gujarat, beginning with a solemn and symbolic prayer meeting at the historic Sabarmati Ashram. This inaugural event, held in the early hours of the morning, set a tone of reflection and unity, paying homage to the core values of Mahatma Gandhi, whose legacy continues to inspire the Congress Party.

The Sabarmati Ashram, once the residence of Mahatma Gandhi and a cradle of India’s freedom movement, provided a fitting backdrop for the session’s commencement. Party leaders, delegates, and members from across the nation gathered at the serene grounds to offer prayers for peace, harmony, and the future of the nation. The atmosphere was one of reverence and commitment to Gandhian ideals of truth, non-violence, and justice.

Leading figures of the Indian National Congress, including the party president and senior leaders, participated in the prayer meet. The ceremony included recitations from religious texts, bhajans famously associated with Gandhiji like “Vaishnav Jan To,” and a moment of silence to honor past leaders and freedom fighters.

This first day marks the beginning of a multi-day session where the party is expected to discuss crucial national issues, political strategies, organizational reforms, and upcoming electoral challenges. Key topics on the agenda include economic policies, social justice, and strengthening democratic institutions.

The choice of Sabarmati Ashram as the opening venue reflects the party’s intent to reconnect with its roots and present a vision for the future anchored in the spirit of India’s freedom struggle. As the session unfolds, all eyes will be on Gujarat to witness how the Congress charts its course forward.

The day concluded with unity and purpose, setting the stage for what promises to be a significant gathering in the party’s political journey.
