Rajnath Singh Calls for Stronger India-Germany Defence Ties in Berlin

Rajnath Singh urged deeper defence industrial collaboration between India and Germany while addressing German Parliamentarians in Berlin on April 21, 2026. Emphasising the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, he invited German industry to co-create, co-develop, and co-innovate in tackling emerging global security challenges.

Highlighting the rapidly evolving geopolitical landscape, he stressed that coordinated responses, trusted partnerships, and adaptability are essential in addressing complex, technology-driven threats. He noted that India, under the leadership of Narendra Modi, is undergoing significant transformation in the defence sector, offering vast opportunities for collaboration with Germany’s advanced industrial ecosystem and Mittelstand enterprises.

Rajnath Singh also pointed to the shared democratic values and economic resilience of both nations, stating that stronger India-Germany ties can play a key role in shaping global strategic discourse. Referring to ongoing instability in West Asia, he underlined its global implications for energy and economic security, particularly for India.

He highlighted India’s proactive approach through coordinated government efforts to manage such crises effectively. During the visit, he was received by German Parliamentary Committee Chairman Thomas Roewekamp and paid tribute to Rabindranath Tagore at Humboldt University, reflecting enduring cultural ties between the two nations.
