Supreme Court Dismisses Bail Request Of Ex-MP Prajwal Revanna In Rape Cases

Prajwal Revanna, the former JD(S) MP who is accused of rape and sexual assault, had his bail request denied by the Supreme Court on Monday.
The plea was denied by a bench of Justices Dela M. Trivedi and Satish Chandra Sharma, who noted that Revanna has significant influence.
The panel stated that it could not overrule the Karnataka High Court’s decision to deny him bail on October 21. After six months, Rohatgi requested permission to go before the court.
However, the bench rejected his plea, stating that it was unable to comment on that.A 2,144-page charge sheet was produced in August by the Karnataka Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is looking into four allegations of sexual assault and harassment against Revanna.
The charge sheet pertains to a case where the former MLA is charged with raping a lady who served as his family’s domestic helper. The JD(S) leader is facing two rape cases and one sexual assault case. The grandson of former prime minister H D Deve Gowda, Prajwal Revanna is the son of Holenarasipura JD(S) MLA H D Revanna.
