Supreme Court urges CBI to provide new report on 17th September and more in today’s hearing

The Supreme Court encouraged the protesting doctors to return to work today as it heard the suo motu case pertaining to the rape and murder of a doctor at the government-run RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. Judges JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, along with Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, formed a bench that declared that “no adverse action” would occur if the doctors returned to work by tomorrow at 5 p.m.
In response to the August 9 rape and murder of the 31-year-old train doctor who was on duty, thousands of physicians in West Bengal and other regions of the nation are staging rallies. The investigation has led to the arrest of Sanjay Roy, a volunteer for the community.
Additionally, the most senior judge ordered the victim’s pictures to be taken down immediately from all social media.

The Supreme court ordered the CBI to provide a new status report on the investigation into the Kolkata Rape Murder Case by September 17.
An advocate criticized the post-mortem report on several points, claiming that the vaginal swab, which needed to be kept at 4 degrees Celsius, was not done.
The post mortem report, according to Attorney General Tushar Mehta, did not specify when it was completed.
On Sunday, demonstrators from the Indian diaspora staged rallies in 130 places in 25 nations, calling for justice for the trainee physician who was sexually assaulted and killed at the RG Kar hospital in Kolkata.
In addition, thousands of people flocked to Kolkata’s streets at midnight to commemorate one month after the horrifying event that happened on August 9. At the third ‘Reclaim the Night’ protest march, demonstrators fashioned human chains and called for the victim’s rights.
