The Winners Of A Prestigious High School Competition In The US Include Five Indian Americans
In a prominent science and math competition for US high school seniors, five Indian-American adolescents were among the 40 finalists competing for more than USD 1.8 million in prizes.
According to a news statement from the Society for Science and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals on January 24, the 82nd annual Regeneron Science Talent Search honors and awards young scientists working on a variety of subjects, including the space race, the AIDS epidemic, and climate change.
In total, 40 Americans were chosen to compete in the finals.
Siddhu Pachipala from Texas, Lavanya Natarajan and Ishika Nag from Florida, Neel Moudgal from Michigan, and Ambika Grover from Connecticut are the five Indian Americans among them.
According to the press release, the finalists were chosen based on the scientific rigor of their concepts and their potential to become scientific leaders who would change the world.
According to information released earlier this month, a national jury of expert scientists chose the finalists from a group of 300 researchers.
The scholars were chosen from a group of more than 1,900 highly talented applicants, all of whom through a rigorous application procedure and original research project.
According to a press release, finalists will take part in a week-long competition in March 2023 where they will compete for more than USD 1.8 million in awards and go through a rigorous assessment procedure that extends beyond their own study to include other scientific disciplines.
On March 12, a virtual “Public Day” event will provide them the chance to speak with top researchers and present their work.
The top 10 winners of the Regeneron Science Talent Search 2023 will be revealed on March 14 in Washington, according to the statement. The research projects of the 2023 finalists demonstrate their depth of knowledge, dedication to tackling issues crucial to contemporary society, and love of STEM.
