The State Agricultural Technologists Service Association (SATSA), the premier organization of agricultural officers and scientists serving under the Department of Agriculture, Government of West Bengal, convened its 75th General Meeting today at Dhandhanya Auditorium, Alipore, Kolkata. Established in 1951, the association marked its Platinum Jubilee year with a series of special initiatives and recognitions.

As part of its social responsibility programme aligned with International Women Farmers Year 2026, SATSA conferred the prestigious “Krishi Ananya” Awards on five outstanding women farmers and women-led farmer groups from different districts of the state. The awards recognize their exceptional contribution to agricultural innovation, productivity, and community development.

Reaffirming its commitment to inclusive agricultural growth, SATSA announced a statewide capacity-building initiative aimed at empowering women in farming. The association has set a target to train 3,000 women farmers during the year, with 1,000 already trained across multiple districts.
The meeting highlighted SATSA’s continued role as a key driver of agricultural development, farmer support, and technological advancement in West Bengal.
