“Strong Quarter Across Segments”: Bharti Airtel Posts 89% Jump in Q2 Profit, ARPU Rises to ₹256

Bharti Airtel reported a stellar second-quarter performance for FY26, with its consolidated net profit surging 89% year-on-year to ₹6,792 crore. The company said in a statement, “This has been a strong quarter across all segments with continued momentum in customer additions and revenue growth.”

Revenue from operations rose 26% YoY to ₹52,145 crore, driven by higher mobile data usage and subscriber growth. The telecom giant’s Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) improved to ₹256, compared to ₹233 last year. “Our ARPU continues to rise steadily, reflecting our strategy to focus on quality customers and premium plans,” Airtel said.

India CEO Gopal Vittal added, “We remain focused on delivering superior network experiences. Our postpaid and broadband businesses continue to gain traction.” Airtel also reported an EBITDA margin of 57.4%, with the India business contributing nearly 60%.

The company’s debt position improved significantly, with its net debt-to-EBITDA ratio reducing to 1.63x, compared to 2.50x a year ago. “This reflects our commitment to financial prudence and operational excellence,” Airtel noted.

During the quarter, Airtel added 1.4 million new mobile users in India, taking its total base to about 364 million. Comparing performance with its rival, the company said, “Our ARPU remains well ahead of the industry average, highlighting our leadership in customer value.”

Airtel also highlighted steady growth in its Africa business, contributing 10.2% of consolidated revenue. “We are confident of sustaining this momentum as we continue investing in digital and 5G expansion,” the company said.
