President’s Rule in Manipur has been revoked after nearly a year, paving the way for the formation of a new elected government in the state. According to sources, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has staked its claim to form the government, bringing an end to the prolonged period of central rule imposed amid political instability and violence.

. Party leaders said the NDA has the required numbers and support to form a stable government. The development is seen as a significant political step towards restoring normal governance in the violence-hit northeastern state.
Formalities for government formation are expected to be completed soon, with the oath-taking ceremony likely to take place shortly. The new administration will face the immediate challenge of restoring peace, rebuilding trust, and accelerating rehabilitation and development efforts across Manipur.
