Pune Fort Murder: Victim Had Sought Background Check on Fiancée Before Wedding, Probe Reveals

Fresh details have emerged in the investigation into the alleged murder of Pune-based realtor Ketan Agarwal, with police revealing that the victim had expressed concerns about his fiancée, Siya Goyal, and had requested his family to conduct a background check on her before their marriage.

According to investigators, Ketan had become increasingly suspicious of Siya’s relationship with Chetan Chaudhary, who is now a co-accused in the case. He reportedly confided in his family that Siya often picked arguments over minor issues and that he believed she might be involved with another man. Concerned about the future of the relationship, Ketan asked his relatives to verify her background before proceeding with the wedding.

However, after speaking with Siya’s family, Ketan’s relatives reportedly assured him that there was nothing to worry about. Reassured by his family, Ketan decided to continue with the wedding preparations. Police said the marriage arrangements were already at an advanced stage, with invitations distributed and several ceremonies planned.

Investigators allege that Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary were involved in a relationship and conspired to eliminate Ketan before the wedding. According to the police, the duo allegedly lured Ketan to Lohagad Fort near Pune, where he was pushed into a deep gorge, resulting in his death. Both Siya and Chetan have been arrested and booked in connection with the case. The accused have denied the allegations against them, and their legal representatives have questioned aspects of the police investigation.
