AI-powered coding platform Anysphere has launched the first native iOS application for its coding assistant, Cursor, allowing developers to manage and interact with AI-powered coding tasks directly from their iPhones and iPads.
The application, currently available in public beta, extends Cursor’s capabilities beyond desktop computers, enabling software developers to oversee coding projects while away from their workstations. The launch reflects the growing trend of integrating artificial intelligence into software development workflows and making such tools accessible across multiple devices.
According to the company, the iOS app enables users to initiate coding tasks using voice commands or text prompts, review the progress of AI-generated code and monitor ongoing development projects remotely. Developers can also select repositories and manage coding agents from their mobile devices without requiring direct access to their desktop systems.
One of the key features introduced with the app is a “Remote Control” function, which allows users to continue interacting with coding agents already running on their computers. The feature is intended to provide greater flexibility by enabling developers to check project status, issue additional instructions or review completed tasks while travelling or working away from their desks.
The company said the application has been designed to complement, rather than replace, the desktop version of Cursor. While complex software development is expected to remain centred on desktop environments, the mobile app aims to support developers by allowing them to supervise projects, respond to updates and manage AI-assisted workflows from virtually any location. By enabling developers to manage coding tasks on smartphones and tablets, the platform seeks to provide greater convenience and flexibility while supporting increasingly mobile and collaborative software development practices.
