Artemis Fountain Foundation Commemorates the 106th Birth Anniversary of Mastermosai Late Shri Haripada Bharati

Artemis Fountain Foundation, in collaboration with Mantras Foundation, successfully organized a solemn and dignified commemoration ceremony marking the 106th birth anniversary of Mastermosai Late Shri Haripada Bharati on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at EXIM Consultancy Limited, Kalighat, Kolkata.

Late Shri Haripada Bharati needs no introduction. He was a true teacher, an unparalleled orator, one of the most profound philosophers of his time, and a committed social reformer who consistently worked towards the upliftment of the poor and downtrodden. His legacy continues to inspire generations committed to nation-building and social progress.

The event witnessed the presence of several eminent personalities including Shri Nitin Patel (Member, BJP State Council & Former Vice President, South District), Shri Niladri Banerjee (Media Panelist, BJP), Shri Vikas Shastri (son of Late Shri Vishnu Kant Shastri, former Governor of Uttar Pradesh and former State President, BJP), Shri Chandan Shankar Das (Eminent Singer, President EMPAA, BJP Yuva Morcha), Smt Arpita Ganguly, Dr Arijit Banerjee (widely known as the “Toilet Man of Bengal” and grandson of Late Shri Bharati), along with distinguished attendees such as Shri Rittik Mukherjee (Journalist), Shri Amit Paul (President, Rotary Club Kolkata), Shri Indranil Banerjee (President, Calcutta Management Association), Shri Vibhor Tandon (National President, MASA), and Smt Pragya Jhunjhunwal (National Vice President, MASA).

The session was thoughtfully coordinated by Dr Arijit Banerjee, who elaborated on the life, philosophy, and personal anecdotes of Shri Bharati, drawing from literary references and archival material. The audience was also presented with rare audio-visual excerpts, including a preserved recitation of Shri Bharati on the occasion of Pochishe Boishakh, paying tribute to Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore, as well as a commemorative address by Shri Samik Bhattacharya (Senior BJP leader and Member of West Bengal Legislative Assembly) from an earlier birth anniversary observance.

Speakers at the event reflected deeply on the enduring relevance of Shri Bharati’s ideals. Shri Niladri Banerjee and Shri Chandan Shankar Das emphasized the need to bring greater public awareness to the contributions of such visionary leaders, noting their role in shaping a progressive and democratic “New West Bengal.” Shri Nitin Patel shared personal anecdotes and expressed his appreciation for organizing such a meaningful tribute. Shri Vikas Shastri fondly recalled his interactions with Shri Bharati, reflecting on his father’s association and the lasting impression he left.

The gathering also acknowledged Shri Bharati’s pivotal role in the formative years of the Bharatiya Janata Party in West Bengal, recognizing his contribution to its journey from inception to its present stature.

This 106th birth anniversary holds special significance as it reinforces the values of discipline, youth development, and nation-building that Shri Bharati championed throughout his life. The event saw participation from progressive thinkers, social activists, and citizens across diverse backgrounds, united in their resolve to carry forward his vision.

Artemis Fountain Foundation, mentored by his niece Smt Shipra Banerjee, reaffirmed its commitment to social service through the launch of a pilot initiative under the “Swachhta Hi Seva” mission in KMC Ward No. 89. The foundation, supported by Dr Arijit Banerjee, continues to work towards sustainable sanitation and community welfare, carrying forward the legacy of Shri Bharati.

The event concluded on a note of gratitude, renewed inspiration, and a collective pledge to uphold and propagate the ideals of this great visionary, ensuring that his teachings continue to guide future generations.
