Doctor From Madhya Pradesh Who Treats Patients For 20 Rupees Was Awarded The Padma Shri
Dr. M. C. Dawar, a 77-year-old physician from the Madhya Pradesh district of Jabalpur, has received the fourth-highest civilian award, the Padam Shri, from the Indian government.
In honor of the 74th Republic Day, a list of the recipients of the Padma Shri award was released on January 25 evening.
Dr. Dawar moved to India following the split and was born on January 16, 1946, in Punjab, Pakistan. His MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) degree from Jabalpur was earned in 1967.
He also spent almost a year in the Indian Army during the Indo-Pak War in 1971. Since then, he has been offering extremely low-cost medical treatments to residents of Jabalpur. He began treating patients for two dollars, and as of right now, his fees are only twenty.
