BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis to take oath as new CM of Maharashtra on 30 jun’22 at 7:30 pm

BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis, along with a cabinet of ministers, will take an oath to form the new government in Maharashtra on 30 jun’22 at 7:30 pm.

After the rebellion staged by Shiv Sena MLA Eknath Shinde finally disrupted the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government, it is being reported that BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis will be taking oath as the new chief minister of the state on 30 jun’22 at 7:30 pm.

This means that Maharashtra BJP chief Devendra Fadnavis will take the chief minister post in the state for the third time. The ministers of his new cabinet will also be taking oath on 30 jun’22, but no names and portfolios of ministers have been revealed yet.

Though the names of the ministers in the new Maharashtra cabinet have not been confirmed yet, it is being reported that rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde will be the new deputy chief minister of the state, while several of his rebel MLAs will be given key portfolios.

This comes just a day after former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray resigned from his post after the governor had ordered a floor test against his government, urging him to prove the MVA alliance’s majority in the legislative assembly.

As per reports, Eknath Shinde’s rebellion had caused a massive dent in the MVA alliance as Shiv Sena was left with the support of just 13 out of the total 55 MLAs. Shinde returned to Maharashtra this morning to have a meeting with governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis.

Many speculations are being made about the portfolios of ministers in the new Maharashtra government, but the rebel MLAs have termed these rumours as “baseless”. The cabinet is expected to include Eknath Shinde, Praveen Darekar, and many other rebel ministers from Shiv Sena.

The Maharashtra political crisis was triggered by rebel MLA Eknath Shinde, along with several other Shiv Sena leaders, staged a coup and went to Assam, urging their party to break their alliance with Congress and NCP.
