On Wednesday, the Delhi High Court approved bail for Neelam Azad and Mahesh Kumawat, who were arrested in connection with the Parliament security breach incident that occurred on December 13, 2023.

The court, upon delivering its verdict, ordered the accused to provide a bail bond of Rs 50,000 each, together with two sureties of the same sum.

The court has prohibited the accused from providing interviews or making public remarks regarding the case as part of the bail conditions and has also restricted them from sharing anything on social media concerning the incident at hand. The court has also prohibited them from exiting the city of Delhi and ordered them to check in at the assigned police station every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10 am.

A bench of judges including Justice Subramonium Prasad and Justice Harish Vaidyanathan Shankar issued the ruling that was kept pending since May 21.

On 13 December 2023, a group of six individuals executed the breach, with two of them, Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D, successfully entering the Lok Sabha chamber. At Zero Hour, they jumped from the public gallery, released yellow gas from canisters, and yelled slogans until MPs and security forces restrained them.
