In a major announcement during the mid-innings break of the second ODI between India and South Africa, Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma, serving as the tournament ambassador, unveiled the team’s new jersey for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

The reveal, held at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium on Wednesday, offered fans the first look at the kit India will wear as co-hosts of the global event alongside Sri Lanka early next year.

The new design features a deeper shade of blue accented with bold saffron elements. Officials described the kit as a “blend of heritage and modernity,” reflecting the co-hosting identity of the tournament. Rohit Sharma, who captained India to the T20 World Cup title earlier this year, presented the jersey and called it “a symbol of belief and responsibility.”

The 2026 T20 World Cup is scheduled to run from February 7 to March 8, featuring 20 teams, including debutants Italy. Defending champions India are in Group A and will begin their campaign on February 7 at the Wankhede Stadium against the USA. The final match on March 8 is slated to be held in either Ahmedabad or Colombo, depending on qualification factors.
