After a young person played a song with actor-politician Vijay over the temple’s public address system, an odd incident occurred at the well-known Dhandayudhapani Swamy Temple in Palani, Tamil Nadu. The temple management filed an official police report after the video of the young person performing the song went viral on social media.
The ‘Yaanai Paadhai’ (Elephant Path) section of the hill temple is where the tragedy happened. In the video, a young person who wishes to remain anonymous connects his phone to the temple’s public speaker system and plays Vijay’s song loudly. Vijay’s party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, has been using the song in their current election campaign.
Temple sources claim that during a brief moment when employees were not at their desks, the youth obtained unauthorized access to the microphone station, which is normally used for broadcasting devotional hymns and making security announcements. According to reports, he played the track by connecting his cell phone to the audio console.
In contrast to the shrine’s atmosphere, the viral video depicts some devotees warning the young people while others seem confused as the music plays on the speakers. According to police sources, the kid and his accomplices are currently being identified by tracking the internet footprint of the video. An internal investigation into the security breach has also been authorized by the temple management.
Vijay is one of the most popular and successful stars in Tamil cinema today. Dubbed Thalapathy by his fans, he has been the highest-grossing actor in the industry over the last decade, eclipsing seniors like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, as well as contemporaries such as Ajith Kumar, Suriya, and Vikram.
The actor is currently awaiting the release of his final film, Jana Nayagan, following which he will take a full-fledged plunge into electoral politics with TVK. Jana Nayagan was meant to release last month but had to be postponed after the CBFC did not certify it in time. The film’s makers moved court against the delay, claiming ₹500 crore investment suffers if the film is delayed. However, the court sided with the CBFC. The film has not received a certification or announced a fresh release date yet.
