Tomorrow, the PM will meet with Chief Ministers to discuss readiness for the Iran War.

At 6:30 p.m. tomorrow, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will have a video conference with the chief ministers of the states and Union Territories to discuss the changing West Asian scenario and evaluate its implications for India, particularly with regard to the supply of oil and LPG.

Preparation strategies, such as supply chains, energy security, and the protection of Indian nationals overseas, will be the main topics of discussion.The Prime Minister is anticipated to emphasize coordinated action and stress the value of a group response in the spirit of “Team India,” guaranteeing tight coordination between the federal government and the states. Contingency planning and preserving domestic stability in the face of international unpredictability may also be discussed.

Due to the Model Code of Conduct, states that are currently holding elections will not take part; instead, a separate conversation with their Chief Secretaries will take place via the Cabinet Secretariat to maintain continuity in response and planning procedures.

Given that India is experiencing a severe LPG scarcity that is severely limiting supplies of the necessary fuel for Indian households, the meeting assumes enormous significance. Iran’s closure of the Strait of Hormuz to the majority of nations, with the exception of India, has nevertheless sparked worries that difficult times may lie ahead.

Speaking in Parliament earlier, Prime Minister Modi warned that the current Middle East crisis was severely taxing the world economy and might have long-term effects. He pointed out that vital international commerce routes and energy supplies have already been affected by the battle, which has already lasted longer than three weeks.

He emphasized that India is also under strain as a result of the scenario, which has resulted in a major fuel crisis globally. Interruptions in regular trade channels have impacted the supply of natural gas, fuel, diesel, and fertilizers. The prime minister emphasized that the administration is keeping a close eye on events and taking the appropriate action to lessen their effects on the nation.

He reassured the populace that India’s economic foundations are still solid and that decisions are being made swiftly and thoughtfully as circumstances change. He emphasized the significance of retaining patience, discipline, and composure in handling new obstacles and characterized the crisis as unusual, demanding unorthodox answers. Additionally, the prime minister cautioned that the effects of the battle can last for a very long time. He also reaffirmed the government’s continued commitment to safeguarding the interests of the country.

He also urged state governments to take decisive action against the black sale and hoarding of necessities. He emphasized the need to provide continuous supply and support for vulnerable groups, including as the impoverished and migratory workers, and urged a coordinated “Team India” strategy such to the reaction during the Covid-19 outbreak.
