Bankura, West Bengal : A different side of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was seen on Sunday during the election campaign for the West Bengal Assembly polls. Speaking at a large public rally in Sonamukhi, Bankura, Yogi used the Bengali language to connect with the people of Bengal.
During his speech, Yogi strongly criticized the Mamata Banerjee government. He accused it of corruption and looting. Speaking in Bengali, he said, ("বাংলা আর চুপ থাকবে না। এ বার খেলা শেষ, উন্নয়ন শুরু" ) “Bangla will no longer remain silent. Now, the game is over, and development begins.”
CM Yogi’s speech lasted around 25 minutes. During the rally, he paid tribute to Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay. He also raised the issue of attacks on minorities in Bangladesh.
Targeting the Trinamool Congress, Yogi accused the party of vote-bank politics and appeasement. He said Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee remained silent on the violence against minorities in Bangladesh because she was afraid of losing her vote bank.

CM Yogi also compared West Bengal with Uttar Pradesh. He said that 8 to 9 years ago, Uttar Pradesh was facing a situation similar to Bengal. However, after the coming of a “double-engine” government, the state saw major changes. He claimed that mafia rule was ended and law and order were strengthened in Uttar Pradesh.
He further said that Uttar Pradesh now follows a policy of “satisfaction” for all, not appeasement for a few. According to him, the government has improved public safety by putting criminal and mafia elements behind bars.
Ending his speech, CM Yogi said that Bengal now needs the same kind of change and development that Uttar Pradesh has seen.
