Assam Exit Polls Signal NDA Hat-Trick, Predict 80–100 Seats for BJP-Led Alliance
News Mania Desk / Guwahati, April 2026:

Exit polls for the Assam Assembly elections have projected a comfortable victory for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), indicating a possible third consecutive term in power. According to estimates by Axis My India, the NDA is likely to secure between 80 and 100 seats in the 126-member Assembly.
The projections suggest sustained voter confidence in the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and the governance model presented by the Bharatiya Janata Party and its allies. Key factors cited include welfare schemes, infrastructure development, and a focus on law and order.
The opposition, led by the Indian National Congress and regional partners, is expected to trail behind, though it may retain influence in certain pockets where local issues and candidate selection have played a role.
Exit polls also indicate that rural and semi-urban constituencies have shown strong support for the NDA, while urban areas have largely remained consistent with previous voting trends. Analysts believe that consolidation of votes and effective booth-level management have contributed to the alliance’s projected lead.
However, political observers caution that exit polls are only indicative and not definitive. The final outcome will be determined on counting day, when actual results may confirm or differ from these projections.
If the predictions hold, it would mark a significant political milestone for the NDA in Assam, reinforcing its position in the Northeast and shaping the region’s political trajectory for the coming years.
