Nora Fatehi Faces ₹3 Crore Defamation Suit Over ‘Toy Plane’ Remarks

Bollywood actor and dancer Nora Fatehi is facing a ₹3 crore civil defamation suit filed by aviation company Dunes Aviation over comments she allegedly made about one of its chartered aircraft on social media. The company has approached a court in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, claiming that her remarks caused serious damage to its reputation and affected its commercial operations.

According to the case details, Fatehi recorded videos while travelling on a Cessna Citation CJ2 aircraft during a Mumbai-Jaipur flight in December 2025. In the videos posted on her Instagram account, she allegedly described the aircraft as a “miniature”, “toy” and “Lego airplane”. Dunes Aviation has termed these comments reckless, irresponsible and defamatory.

The aviation company has argued that the remarks were made without adequate technical knowledge, verification or factual basis. It has claimed that Fatehi’s large social media following amplified the comments and exposed the company to significant reputational and commercial consequences. Dunes Aviation has alleged that the posts resulted in cancellations and a decline in bookings. The company has reportedly claimed that its bookings fell by around 15 to 20 per cent following the controversy, leading to financial losses and damage to its goodwill.

The company has defended the aircraft at the centre of the dispute, stating that it was a standard aircraft suitable for the journey undertaken by Fatehi. It has also maintained that the aircraft was airworthy, certified by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and being operated legally under a valid Non-Scheduled Operator’s Permit.

Apart from seeking ₹3 crore in damages, Dunes Aviation has asked the court to direct Fatehi to remove the allegedly defamatory material from social media platforms. The company has also sought a public clarification from the actor regarding the comments. The suit was filed in April, and the court has issued summons in the matter. The case is scheduled to come up before the 12th-7th Additional Senior Civil Judge and Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate in Gandhinagar on September 25, 2026. The court will now consider the claims raised by Dunes Aviation as the proceedings move forward.
