British Deputy High Commission Hosts a Meaningful Celebration of Social Impact and Grassroots Enterprise*

Kolkata, September 5, 2026: The Monsoon Charity Fair – Season 3 brought together a vibrant community of charitable organisations, social enterprises, self-help groups, artisans and supporters at the British Deputy High Commission, Kolkata, on Saturday, September 5, 2026.

Organised by the *British Club Kolkata and the British Deputy High Commission, Kolkata, the day-long fair was held from **12 noon to 7 pm at 1A Ho Chi Minh Sarani, offering visitors an opportunity to shop for handcrafted products, artisan creations, food and other meaningful products while contributing to charitable causes. The initiative was supported by the *Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) and Supreme Knowledge Foundation.

The event witnessed the presence of British Deputy High Commissioner Mr. Andrew Fleming and acclaimed actor Raima Sen, along with dignitaries, supporters, well-wishers and members of the community. Their participation added significance to an initiative centred on inclusion, community participation and social development.

A key attraction of the fair was the participation of organisations working across diverse areas of social welfare and community empowerment. Among the participating organisations were All Bengal Women’s Union, Anjali, Antara, Banglanatak dot com, Destiny Reflection, Ek Tara, Future Hope, Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy, Kolkata Society for Cultural Heritage, Opportunity Café, Rinchen’s Momo, Shuktara Cakes, Swadhina, Swayam, Turning Point and Unmesh Child Development.

For organisations such as Antara, the fair provided a valuable platform to showcase the creativity, skills and meaningful work of its long-term residents. Their handcrafted creations reflected not only artistic ability but also the importance of providing opportunities, dignity and a sense of purpose.

The Monsoon Charity Fair successfully demonstrated how shopping can become an act of solidarity when consumers, organisations and communities come together with a shared social purpose. Every stall represented a story of perseverance, creativity and hope, while every purchase had the potential to contribute to a larger cause.
