NIA Finds Jihadi Literature And Bomb-Making Supplies From The Deceased Jamesha Mubin’s House.

The specifics of the accusations brought by the NIA in the Coimbatore blast case have been made public following the filing of the FIR charge sheet. The charging sheet states that more than a hundred damning things have been retrieved from the man’s home who perished in the automobile explosion. It is noteworthy that the incident was initially assumed to be a straightforward cylinder burst case, but subsequently, a terrorist element surfaced and the case was turned over to the NIA.

On October 22 in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, an LPG cylinder explosion from a car caused the death of a 25-year-old man. It happened in the politically sensitive Kottaimedu district. Jamesha Mubin, a local of Kottaipudur near GM Nagar in Ukkadam, was named as the victim of the Coimbatore bomb. Mubin allegedly holds a degree in engineering. In the National Investigative Agency’s FIR, disturbing information regarding the case has since surfaced (NIA).

Jamesha Mubeen was the owner of the Maruti 800 automobile which the explosion took place at around 4 o’clock near a Hindu temple. The NIA has also found bomb-making supplies and notebooks with information on Islam and jihad.

Notably, the NIA registered the case after receiving a directive to do so from the Home Ministry’s Counter Terrorism and Counter Radicalization (CTCR) order.

The NIA team searched the Mubin’s property and seized 109 items, including potassium nitrate, black powder, matchboxes, 2-meter cracker fuses, Nitro Glycerin, red phosphorous, PETN powder, Aluminium powder, OXY 99 Breathe pure Oxygen cylinders, Sulphur powder, Sterile Surgical blades, and other bomb-making materials, as well as notebooks with relevant data on Islamic philosophy and Jihad.

Six people have been detained thus far in connection with the case by Tamil Nadu police, who have also used the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). All of the people who have been detained are allegedly Jameesha Mubin’s friends. According to the police, the central anti-terror agency also questioned Mubin in 2019 for potential ties to ISIS. Mubin had already planned to detonate a bomb, but the police said the scheme had been thwarted.

The Easter explosion in Sri Lanka in 2019 was planned by Sri Lankan Islamic cleric Zahran Hashim, who Mubeen reportedly communicated with on Facebook. He had been questioned by NIA about the matter at the time. In addition, the authorities claimed that Muhammed Azharuddin, who is now detained in Kerala in connection with the IS investigation, was close friends with Jamesha Mubeen.

The six people were detained in connection with the crime and booked under UAPA: Mohammad Thalka, 25, Muhammad Asarudheen, 25, Muhammad Riyaz, 27, Feroz Ismail, 27, Mohammad Navaz Ismail, 27, and Afsar Khan. Mohammad Thalka is one of them; he is the son of Syed Ahmed Basha, the leader of the outlawed organization Al Ummah, and Nawab Khan, his brother. This organization was responsible for the 58 fatal explosions in Coimbatore in 1998.

Mubeen’s cousin Afsar Khan is the sixth suspect detained in the Coimbatore blast case. He was given a 14-day jail sentence after making an appearance in judicial magistrate court on October 27. The NIA and the police are working to unearth a bigger plot that might be interstate or worldwide in scope.

According to reports, the NIA is also investigating any potential connections between Mubin and C.A.Rauf, the Popular Front of India’s (PFI) state secretary for Kerala. Rauf was detained by the NIA on October 27 night at his home in Pattambi, Kerala, where he had been hiding out ever since PFI was outlawed.
