Assuming The Role Of CAB President, Snehasish Ganguly Offers A Hand Of Amity To Wriddhi
Newly-elected Cricket Association of Bengal president On October 31, Snehasish Ganguly offered Wriddhiman Saha, who had left his country and joined Tripura under difficult circumstances, a helping hand.
After a disagreement with a CAB official, the veteran Indian Test wicketkeeper quit Bengal after declaring himself unavailable for the state squad after realizing that he was no longer on the national radar. Wriddhiman then left CAB after 15 years and joined Tripura as a mentor-cum-player. Snehasish, who succeeded Avishek Dalmiya as president of the CAB, expressed his hope that the 38-year-old veteran will eventually return to his native country while maintaining their cordial connection.
Bengal is proud of Wriddhi. Only Sourav (113) and Pankaj Roy (43) have played in more Tests than him from Bengal. He has given Bengal a lot and still has a lot to give.
Sourav Ganguly, a former captain of India, had expressed interest in running for the CAB’s top position a few days after he was denied a second term as the BCCI president. However, he later changed his mind, making room for his elder brother.
Vice-President Amalendu Biswas, Secretary Naresh Ojha, Joint Secretary Debabrata Das, and Treasurer Prabir Chakraborty are the other position holders in Snehasish’s office. They were all chosen unanimously. Snehasish added that improving Team India’s supply chain and advancing cricket in Bengal would be his top priorities.
