Rashmi Group Extends ₹5 Lakh CSR Support to International Swimmer Afrin Jabee

West Medinipur: Under its CSR initiative, Orissa Metaliks Pvt Ltd, Unit-I, Rashmi Group handed over a cheque of Rs. 5,00,000/- to Afrin Jabee, an International Open-Water Swimmer from West Medinipur.

The cheque was jointly presented by the District Magistrate of West Medinipur and Bhaskar Chaudhuri, Executive Director, Rashmi Group, at 11:45 AM at the DM Office. The event was attended by government officials, senior officials of Rashmi Group, and members of the media.

Afrin will represent India in the Catalina Channel Expedition 2026. She has brought pride to the district and the state with her remarkable achievements in swimming.

Addressing the gathering, Bhaskar Chaudhuri said, “Rashmi Group is committed to supporting athletes who bring glory to the nation. We extend our sincere thanks to the District Magistrate for providing us this opportunity to support Afrin.”

The District Magistrate appreciated Rashmi Group’s initiative to support Afrin and wished her success for the upcoming expedition.

Speaking at the event, Afrin expressed her gratitude to Rashmi Group for the financial support and also appealed to other industries to come forward and support her journey to the Catalina Channel.
