Charli XCX marries The 1975’s George Daniel in London town hall ceremony

Pop superstar Charli XCX wed The 1975 drummer George Daniel in a private event at Hackney Town Hall in London on Saturday, July 19. The vocalist appeared effortlessly stylish in a smooth off-shoulder midi gown, complemented by a timeless tulle veil and her iconic black sunglasses. Daniel chose a straightforward fitted suit.

The couple exchanged vows in the presence of their nearest family and friends, including Charli’s parents and Daniel’s fellow band members, although frontman Matty Healy was conspicuously missing. Touching images from the day captured the couple grinning and exchanging a kiss on the town hall stairs. Charli, recognized for her album ‘Brat’ and the popular single ‘Von Dutch,’ revealed her engagement to Daniel in November 2023 via a whimsical Instagram post showcasing candid pictures.

The couple initially met in 2021 while collaborating on the song ‘Spinning’ with The 1975 and No Rome. Their relationship was made known in May 2022 after Daniel attended Charli’s Saturday Night Live show earlier that year.

During her appearance on the Spout Podcast, Charli shared how Daniel has affected her creativity. “It’s a completely different vibe, but it’s awesome,” she remarked while talking about his subtle role in her sixth studio album Brat, which debuted in June. According to People magazine.
