Bollywood Composer Sachin Sanghvi Arrested Over Sexual Harassment Allegations

Bollywood music composer Sachin Sanghvi, one half of the popular duo Sachin-Jigar, was arrested on October 23, 2025, following allegations of sexual harassment by a woman in her 20s. The complainant claims that Sanghvi initially contacted her on Instagram in February 2024, promising a role in an upcoming music album and even proposing marriage. She alleges that after exchanging phone numbers, Sanghvi invited her to his music studio, where he allegedly sexually assaulted her multiple times.

Authorities registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and took Sanghvi into custody. He was later released on bail. His lawyer, Aditya Mithe, strongly denied the allegations, calling them “absolutely baseless and unsubstantiated,” and described the detention as illegal, which led to his immediate release. Sanghvi has not publicly commented on the matter, and his official Instagram account has been deactivated. His musical partner, Jigar Saraiya, has also refrained from making any statements.

Sanghvi and Saraiya are known for composing several successful Bollywood soundtracks, including the hit song “Aaj Ki Raat” from Stree 2. Their latest project was the music for the Diwali release Thamma, starring Rashmika Mandanna and Ayushmann Khurrana.

The case remains under investigation, with authorities yet to release further details. Both the complainant and Sanghvi’s legal team are preparing for upcoming court proceedings. The incident has sparked widespread attention in the entertainment industry, given Sanghvi’s prominent position in Bollywood music circles.
