IAF Conducts ‘Operation Sindoor’ 88-Hour Commemorative Run in New Delhi

The Indian Air Force organised an 88-hour “Operation Sindoor Commemorative Run” in New Delhi from May 7 to May 10, 2026, marking the first anniversary of the successful 88-hour air operations carried out during Operation Sindoor. The event witnessed participation from nearly 600 runners comprising personnel from the Indian Air Force, the Indian Army, and civilian volunteers.

The commemorative relay run was flagged off from India Gate by the Air Officer in Charge Administration on May 7 at 0105 hours and concluded at Air Force Station New Delhi on May 10, where it was formally flagged in by the Chief of the Air Staff.

The route covered several major landmarks across Delhi, including Vayu Bhawan and Nehru Park. Organised in a continuous relay format, the run aimed to strengthen esprit de corps among defence personnel while enhancing public outreach and awareness of the Indian Armed Forces.

As part of the associated activities, the Indian Air Force Jazz Band also delivered a live performance at Nehru Park on May 10, adding a cultural dimension to the commemorative event.
