IAF Operationalises Emergency Landing Facility on Purvanchal Expressway

The Indian Air Force has successfully operationalised an Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) on the Purvanchal Expressway, marking a significant step in enhancing operational flexibility and disaster response capabilities.

The exercise demonstrated the Air Force’s ability to conduct operations beyond conventional airbases, enabling rapid deployment and improved readiness during emergencies. Such facilities are crucial for maintaining continuity of air operations in times of conflict or natural disasters.

The drill was witnessed by Om Prakash Rajbhar, along with B Manikantan, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Central Air Command, and Deepak Kumar, among other senior officials.

The seamless coordination between civil authorities and the military highlighted the effectiveness of joint preparedness efforts. The initiative underscores India’s focus on strengthening infrastructure resilience and ensuring swift mobilisation capabilities in critical situations.
