Multilateral Exercise PRAGATI 2026 Concludes in Meghalaya

The maiden edition of Exercise PRAGATI 2026 concluded at the Umroi Military Station with a 72-hour validation exercise demonstrating enhanced interoperability, mutual trust, and collective readiness among participating nations. Hosted by Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, the event brought together over 400 troops and senior military officials from 13 countries across the Indian Ocean Region.

PRAGATI (Partnership of Regional Armies for Growth and Transformation in the Indian Ocean Region) focused on counter-terrorism operations in semi-mountainous and jungle terrain. Participating forces from India, Bhutan, Cambodia, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Laos trained together in specialized skills including ambush drills, IED detection, casualty evacuation, slithering, and jungle warfare.

A defence equipment exhibition organized by the Indian Army and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry showcased indigenous defence technologies under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. The exercise also featured bilateral military engagements, strengthening defence cooperation and laying a strong foundation for future editions aimed at promoting regional peace, security, and collaboration.
