Maharashtra Police have arrested Nida Khan, one of the main accused in the alleged religious conversion and workplace harassment case linked to the Nashik office of TCS . Her arrest comes after weeks of investigation into allegations involving harassment, intimidation and coercion at the company’s Nashik unit.
Police officials said Khan was taken into custody from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar after investigators tracked her location during a surveillance operation. According to authorities, she had allegedly been hiding in a residential apartment along with family members while attempting to avoid arrest. Investigators stated that search operations had been intensified across several districts after multiple complaints and FIRs were registered in the case.
The controversy first surfaced after employees at the Nashik office alleged that certain staff members faced pressure and harassment connected to religious practices and conversion. The allegations triggered a major political and public debate, leading the Maharashtra Police to launch a detailed probe into the matter. A Special Investigation Team was later formed to examine the complaints, collect evidence and question witnesses linked to the case.
Following her arrest, Khan was brought to Nashik for further legal proceedings. A local court subsequently remanded her to police custody till May 11 to allow investigators to continue interrogation. Officials believe her questioning could provide important information regarding the involvement of other accused persons and the wider network allegedly connected to the case.
Police sources said Khan had remained absconding after her anticipatory bail plea was rejected by the court. Prosecutors argued that custodial interrogation was necessary because of the seriousness of the allegations and the need to investigate the case thoroughly. Authorities then launched coordinated efforts to trace her movements before finally making the arrest.
The investigation is currently focused on examining digital records, workplace communication and statements from employees connected to the Nashik office. Several other accused individuals have already been questioned or arrested as part of the ongoing probe.
