Prime Minister Modi paid tribute on 151st Birth Anniversary of Sri Aurobindo in his address from Red Fort

Place: Kolkata: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi paid tribute to Sri Aurobindo on his 151st Birth Anniversary from ramparts  of Red Fort in his Address  to the Nation . Prime Minister Modi mentioned about  year long celebration of 150th Birth Anniversary of Sri Aurobindo in initial part of opening of his address to the Nation . 

Sri Aurobindo the great yogi , visionary, freedom fighter , journalist , Spiritual guru,  and polymath  born on 15th August 1872 at then  4 Theater Road, currently 8 Shakespeare Sarani Kolkata. 

On 15th August 2023 , 151st Birth Anniversary of Sri Aurobindo was observed  by his followers across India and around the world. 

Governor of West Bengal Dr. C. V . Ananda Bose paid floral tribute at the Birth place of Sri Aurobindo in Kolkata  where relics of Sri Aurobindo is enshrined since 16th February, 1973. 

Birthplace of Sri Aurobindo is known as Sri Aurobindo Bhawan which is observing establishment of its Golden Jubliee year . 

Sri Aurobindo Bhawan organised discourse on life of Sri Aurobindo as well as Meditation session to celebrate the Birthday of the great yogi.

Rich Tributes were paid by representatives of various Sri Aurobindo Centres from across West Bengal at the Cell of Sri Aurobindo at Presidency Correctional Home in Alipur where he was imprisoned during early part of India ‘s freedom struggle. Also , tribute were paid at Alipore Judges Courts museum . 

Floral tribute was offered by garlanding Sri Aurobindo ‘s statue in front of Victoria Memorial Hall in Kolkata.

Sri Aurobindo Ashram ,Puducherry ,  celebrated Sri Aurobindo’s Birth Anniversary as per guidance of The Mother as well as practice initiated by her  . 

Meditation sessions were organised in early morning and evening at Sri Aurobindo ashram premises in Puducherry. Devotees, followers and Visitors were allowed to visit room of Sri Aurobindo to pay homage through the day. In evening, students of the school of Sri Aurobindo ashram did March past a practice initiated by The Mother. 

Special sweets as Prasad were served to all diners at the Sri  Aurobindo Ashram Dining Hall.
