NIA Links ₹21,000 Crore Drug Trafficking to Pahalgam Terror Attack

News Mania Desk / Piyal Chatterjee / 27th April 2025

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has revealed a connection between the ₹21,000 crore drug trafficking case and the recent Pahalgam terror attack. According to the NIA, Pakistan-based militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), aided by the ISI, smuggled 3,000 kg of heroin into India through Mundra Port, hidden as talc powder in legal shipments.

The agency claims the drug sales were intended to fund terrorist operations, including the Pahalgam attack, which killed 28 tourists. The heroin was routed through Iran and stored in warehouses in Delhi’s Neb Sarai and Alipur areas. NIA officials also stressed that the operation not only funded terrorism but aimed to destabilize India by fostering drug addiction.

Authorities have identified four suspects related to the Pahalgam attack. Additionally, Indian security forces recently thwarted an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control in Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir.
