15-Year-Old Wins A High Paying Job In The US After Winning Coding Contest, Loses It After Firm Finds Out He’s Too Young
An Indian boy named Vedant Deokate was scrolling through his Instagram account on his mother’s old laptop when he came across a website development competition link.
He decided to enter the contest and finished his task in about two days, writing more than 2000 lines of code. The best news post that was that he won the competition and landed him his dream job. The teenager bagged a Rs 33 lakh per annum salary.
The firm based out of New Jersey offered the teenager a position in the HRD team. He had to assign work and manage the coders. However, sadly, for Vedant, the offer was withdrawn after the firm found out he’s just 15.
However, the company asked Vedant to not be disappointed and asked him to contact the company after he is done with his education. Vedant had developed a website, animeeditor.com, that offers patrons the option to upload videos like YouTube, with additional features of blogs, vlogs, chatbot and also a video watching platform.
Teenager was chosen from 1000 entries
The teenager has also won a gold medal in a science exhibition at his school at Narayana e-techno, Wathoda, by designing a radar system model.
Vedant’s parents are assistant professors and they don’t let him have the laptop so he does not neglect his studies. Now, his parents are buying him a new laptop after the school informed them about the job offer.
