Veteran Producer and Former CBFC Chief Pahlaj Nihalani Dies at 76, Film Industry Pays Tribute

Veteran Bollywood producer and former Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chairman Pahlaj Nihalani passed away at the age of 76, leaving the Indian film industry mourning the loss of one of its most influential figures. His death prompted an outpouring of tributes from actors, filmmakers and industry colleagues who remembered his contributions to Hindi cinema over several decades.

Nihalani was widely known for producing a number of commercially successful films during the 1980s and 1990s. Over the years, he played a significant role in shaping mainstream Bollywood entertainment and was credited with backing projects that helped launch and establish the careers of several actors. His work earned him a prominent place in the industry and made him a well-recognised figure among filmmakers and audiences alike.

Following the news of his passing, several Bollywood personalities expressed their condolences. Actress Kangana Ranaut paid tribute to Nihalani’s dedication to cinema, while actors Randeep Hooda and Chunky Panday also shared messages remembering his contributions and offering support to his family.
