Cockroach Janta Party Alleges Provocation at Protest, Moves Police for Investigation

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has filed a police complaint alleging that an individual was deliberately sent to one of its recent protests in New Delhi to create controversy and tarnish the movement’s image. The complaint follows the circulation of videos on social media showing a man making allegedly provocative remarks during the demonstration held at Jantar Mantar.
According to CJP leaders, the individual in question was not associated with the organisation and had intentionally attempted to disrupt the protest by making statements that did not represent the group’s position. The party has claimed that the episode was part of a broader effort to divert attention from the issues raised by the protesters and portray the movement in a negative light.
In its complaint, the organisation reportedly named political commentator Abhijit Iyer-Mitra and sought a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. The group urged law enforcement authorities to identify those involved and determine whether there had been a coordinated attempt to provoke unrest during the gathering.
The protest, organised under the banner of the Cockroach Janta Party, had primarily focused on concerns related to examination irregularities and demands for accountability in the education sector. Participants had called for action over alleged lapses in the conduct of competitive examinations and pressed for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke maintained that the organisation remains committed to peaceful and issue-based demonstrations. He argued that the controversy should not overshadow the concerns being highlighted by students and young people participating in the movement.
Police have yet to publicly comment on the allegations contained in the complaint. As investigations proceed, the claims made by the Cockroach Janta Party remain unverified, with authorities expected to examine available evidence before arriving at any conclusions.
