Ramayana: Part 1 registered an impressive opening at the Indian box office, collecting an estimated Rs 58 crore on its first day in theatres on November 5. The film, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, witnessed a strong response from audiences across languages, with its Hindi version contributing the largest share of the opening-day earnings.

According to the reported figures, the film earned approximately Rs 43 crore from the Hindi market, while its dubbed versions in other languages collectively generated around Rs 15 crore. The performance marks a significant start for the ambitious mythological film, which has attracted considerable attention because of its scale, star cast and subject.

The film’s performance in premium screening formats also contributed to its impressive opening. Screenings in IMAX and 4DX theatres helped strengthen ticket sales, particularly in the Hindi-speaking markets. The response indicates that audiences have shown considerable interest in experiencing the mythological epic on the big screen.

Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash and Ravie Dubey, Ramayana is among the most anticipated Indian film projects. The casting of prominent actors in key roles has generated considerable discussion, while the film’s large production scale has further raised expectations surrounding its theatrical performance.

Despite the strong opening, the film’s box office collection could be influenced by the Diwali holiday period. The festive season may bring fluctuations in audience turnout, with Saturday expected to witness an improvement in collections as more viewers make time for theatrical outings. The post-Diwali period will also be important in determining whether the film can maintain its momentum beyond the initial excitement. Monday’s performance, in particular, could provide a clearer indication of its box office performance and staying power.

With its opening-day collection of Rs 58 crore, Ramayana: Part 1 has established a promising foundation for its theatrical run. Its performance over the extended opening weekend will be closely watched by the trade, especially as the film seeks to convert its initial audience interest into sustained box office success.
