An official announcement stated that the deadline for Padma Award nominations is September 15, 2022.
One of the highest civilian honors in the nation is the Padma Awards, which consist of the Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri.
These honors, which were established in 1954, are always presented on Republic Day.
The awards are granted for notable and extraordinary accomplishments and contributions in numerous fields and disciplines, including art, literature, education, athletics, medicine, social work, public affairs, civil service, and trade and industry, among others. They aim to recognize work of excellence.
All people without distinction of race, occupation, status, or sex are eligible for these honors.
Except for doctors and scientists, employees of public sector enterprises (PSUs) and other government agencies are not eligible for the Padma Awards.
According to a government official, the Modi administration is dedicated to making the Padma Awards the “People’s Padma.”
A concerted attempt is being made to find talented individuals among women, underrepresented groups in society, SCs and STs, people with disabilities, and those who are giving selflessly to the community whose greatness and achievements truly deserve to be recognized.
Additional information regarding this is accessible on the Ministry of Home Affairs website (https://mha.gov.in) and the Padma Awards portal (https://padmaawards.gov.in) under the heading “Awards and Medals”.
