Commercial LPG Prices Slashed by ₹183.50, Households See No Relief as Domestic Cylinder Rates Stay Unchanged

Commercial establishments across India received significant relief on July 1 as oil marketing companies reduced the price of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders by ₹183.50, easing fuel costs for restaurants, hotels, caterers and other businesses. However, the prices of domestic LPG cylinders used by households remain unchanged, leaving millions of consumers without any immediate benefit from the latest revision.
The reduction comes after commercial LPG prices had witnessed increases in recent weeks amid supply concerns triggered by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, particularly the conflict involving Iran. With the supply situation stabilising, oil companies have now rolled back a substantial portion of the earlier hike, offering respite to commercial users.
Following the latest revision, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi has dropped to approximately ₹2,930, while corresponding reductions have also been implemented in other major cities. The monthly revision is expected to lower operating expenses for businesses that rely heavily on LPG for daily operations, especially the hospitality and food service sectors.
Despite the reduction in commercial cylinder prices, the cost of the standard 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder remains unchanged. As a result, households will continue to pay the existing rates, with no fresh relief announced for domestic cooking gas consumers.
