Mamata Will Attend The Governor’s Event In Chennai After Having Him Stay With Her For Kali Puja.
In an apparent effort to repair relations with the Raj Bhavan, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is expected to be in Chennai for the birthday celebration of Governor La Ganesan’s older brother.
In July, after his predecessor Jagdeep Dhankhar was appointed vice-president, Manipur Governor La Ganesan was given greater control over West Bengal.
Acrimonious confrontations with the state government characterized Dhankhar’s three-year stay in the Raj Bhavan; in fact, Mamata blocked him on Twitter in January.
Mamata has maintained a gentle stance with Ganesan in contrast to her tumultuous relationships with Dhankhar on numerous state-related matters, including various Bills in the Vidhan Sabha. Both parties appear to be actively attempting to patch things up.
Along with his family, Ganesan attended the Kali Puja on October 24 at Mamata’s house. Ganesan had never before gone to the Kalighat house of the chief minister. During the festivities, Mamata also gave the Governor a brief tour.
The Governor was surprised by Mamata’s modest home, according to sources who were present at the event, and he questioned her about how she managed to live there.
At her home, where she cooks the prasad for the goddess, Mamata conducts Kali Puja every year. Senior bureaucrats, ministers, MPs, MLAs, consular generals, and notable individuals attend this annual event. It’s interesting to note that Dhankhar also paid a visit to Mamata’s house during his tenure for Kali Puja.
Ganesan, who was astounded by the CM’s generosity, invited Mamata to attend his older brother’s 80th birthday celebration on November 3 in Chennai. On November 2, the TMC leader is likely to arrive in Chennai and take part in the festivities, which will also include other political figures.
M. K. Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, is also anticipated to attend. It’s also possible that Mamata and Stalin will have a private conversation. On November 3rd, the chief minister of West Bengal will return to Kolkata.
